Shaken & Stirred! Brady Brings Classics Back!
March 9, 2010 Bars & Restaurants, Community, Food

Mixologist –One who combines the art and the science of creating new drinks and recipes using diverse ingredients. Brady Weise does just that. He creates unique cocktail recipes using fresh fruits, vegetables, extracts, and so much more. Brady sees a bar as an artist looks at a blank canvas…the possibilities race through his mind, thinking of the perfect cocktail that reflects him and his style. Brady is actively trying to bring the elegance and flare of the classic cocktails back to Los Angeles, where they belong. It is important to capture the essence of the drink, he states in his interview with LosFelizToday.com, who had the rare opportunity to film him while at work with his infusions. He incorporates more than just taste to his art, creating a feast for all your senses including texture, aroma, and of course taste and visual. He can even go Vegan! He created a tantalizing Blueberry Bourbon Cocktail for us when we witnessed him at work. “Don’t shake the Bourbon unless you are working with fresh fruit”, he recommends, hoping to have the accent flavor of the drink grab your taste buds at first sip.
A wise word or two…
“All cocktails are composed of a liquor, sugar, a bitter, and water.
– Most cocktails follow a 3 2 1 rule: Three parts liquor, two parts sugar, and one part bitter
– Everything I make includes fresh ingredients. Craft products should never contain artificial sweeteners or ingredients. If it’s not fresh, then I won’t use it.
– Drinks should revere the base spirit and bring out the layers of flavor already present. If the drink doesn’t do that, then it’s not a good drink.”
