Breaking News! Los Feliz Home in Flames -Firefighters Act Fast!

December 30, 2009 Community, Real Estate

At about 1 PM today, the home at  2303 Hillhurst Ave.(corner of Hillhurst and Gainsborough Ave)  in Los Feliz was up in flames.  The source of the fire is still  unknown at this time, however, from what we witnessed,  it seemed that the fire had started in the garage.  As you can see on the video, the entire right  garage door was completely blazing.   Our local firefighters (along with Silver Lake) arrived within minutes of receiving the call and dozens of firefighters jumped into action  putting the danger out quickly! We watched as several heroes entered the smoke filled, flaming  home while another batch started from the roof down.  The  1,896 Sq. ft  (2 bed + 2 ba according to public records) house seemed vacant at the time.

The following video was shot at the scene by a reporter from Los Feliz Today.

There is never a good time for a fire, however this story does have a little more tragedy attahced to it.  The owner of the home had been remodeling and updating the home for the last 3 years.  It look liked he had just finished a few final touches on the exterior.  We send him our most sincere thoughts and prayers.
